purpose
The purpose is to combine futuristism into futuristic medical technology, while trying to make medical devices less menacing and have a calming effect in order to ease patients and doctors. This is a deviation from the norm, but still pays homage to classic and efficient medical packaging.

Blue is the most calming color. In order to preserve the calming color, I looked to its neighbors, purple and green, and altered those to be thecomplementing colors.

The ‘d’ was made into a cross shape which is one of the most common symbols of health. The ring halo was added because halos represent hope and the rings of the planet hint at retrofuturism and the connection to futuristicspace exloration.

The front panel design was centered at the bottom as to allow for a quick read of the instrument which also added to the visual interest with the dramatic spacing. The top panel simply states the name of the instrument for fast identification on shelves.
